Rescuing and re-homing equines since 1974

Activities

What we do… Hope Pastures rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes horses, ponies and donkeys. We also provide the opportunity for people to meet the animals and learn about them and how to look after them.

Due to Covid restrictions some of these have been temporarily suspended.

GROUP VISITS

PLEASE NOTE: THIS ACTIVITY HAS BEEN SUSPENDED TEMPORARILY

BIRTHDAY PARTIES

PLEASE NOTE: THIS ACTIVITY HAS LIMITED AVAILABILITY
Birthday parties are held on Saturdays at either 10.30am or 1.00pm and run for 2 hours.  They include pony-based activities/games, a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the yard to meet the ponies and ‘hands on time’ grooming (brushing and plaiting) them. The birthday child also receives a free Pony Adoption.

HOPE PASTURES EXPERIENCE

A great way to get to know our animals, a Hope Pastures’ Experience is for 1 to 2 people (or children). It includes a personal tour of the sanctuary plus time grooming/looking after one of the ponies – make sure you bring your camera as a photo of you and your pony is sure to be ‘a must have’. Most Experiences run for about an hour, but we can organise longer if you wish.

ATTEND LOCAL SHOWS, FETES AND FAIRS

Throughout the year we go to a variety of local shows, school fetes and fairs. We usually have our own stall and often one of our ponies comes with us.

PONY DAYS

PLEASE NOTE: ALL PLACES HAVE NOW BEEN FILLED
Our Pony Days started in 2006. As well as having lots of fun children learn about the importance of animal welfare and how to care for animals.
Adult Pony Days also available.

PONY PAMPERING

PLEASE NOTE: THIS ACTIVITY HAS BEEN SUSPENDED TEMPORARILY
Meet the ponies and spend time grooming (brushing) them. £5 donation per person/child to groom a pony and receive a rosette.  The visitor centre will be open for refreshments 10am-12noon Wednesdays during school holidays.  For more information and to book your 15 minute grooming session please

EVENTS AND SHOWS

We run lots of popular events and shows, including a Spring Fayre and a Fun Dog Show.

CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING

We have a range of tasks where groups of corporate volunteers can help. These include fence and shelter painting, gardening, barn and site clearance and fence repair. We organise special days for groups from 2 people up to 20 (we have lots of jobs!) Feedback from all of our groups shows they find the day very rewarding.

VISITS

Our ponies go out on visits to schools, centres and care homes. They’re very popular and the people who meet them find the experience very therapeutic.

GIVE TALKS AND PRESENTATIONS

Our team enjoy sharing their experiences and would welcome the chance to come to your school/group/organisation to explain what we do and how we make a difference.
