Thank you to everyone that’s donated towards Squirrels £1600 vet bill
We’re delighted to say he’s now fully healed happily eating without any problems! He’s so much happier
Squirrel came to us in January 2025 underweight, with poor teeth and in need of some extra care. Not long after arriving, he was diagnosed with EOTRH (Equine Odontoclastic Tooth Resorption and Hypercementosis), a painful dental disease
Sadly, over the last month we noticed a change. Squirrel became quieter and started showing signs of pain. Following examinations by our vets and dentist, it was clear that his condition had deteriorated, and the kindest option was to remove his front teeth to keep him comfortable.
Squirrel was incredibly brave throughout the procedure, and his incisors and canine teeth were successfully removed under standing sedation.

If you come to visit him, you might notice that his tongue sometimes sticks out a little – this is completely normal now that he no longer has the front teeth to keep it in
Thank you to everyone who supports our rescue. Because of you, horses like Squirrel get the care they need and the second chance they deserve
