If you’ve visited us recently, you might have spotted Raggles hanging out with the donkey herd and wondered exactly what he is. The answer is… a bit of both! Raggles is a mule (the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse).

Raggles came to Hope Pastures alongside his companions, Nellie and Pip, when their elderly owner could sadly no longer offer them the physical day-to-day care they required. Moving after so many years is a massive ordeal for any animal, but thanks to the gentle patience of our equine team, Raggles has settled in beautifully.
He has passed his health checks with flying colours and is now fully established as a much-loved member of the Hope Pastures family.
