PROFILE
HISTORY
Tatting has been a racehorse most of his life. As a more difficult big horse he has come to us to start some re-training in the hope that he will make a nice hacking horse for someone. He has the potential to do more in the right home.
He has taken well to being re-backed and hacked out but needs further training in the school. He is starting to improve with his lunge work and all the pieces are starting to come together. Although he is well behaved on the whole he needs an experienced rider able to take on and train a thoroughbred horse. He has been treated for ulcers and a worm burden.
CURRENT TRAINING
He is now good to catch, lead, tie up. He does tend to nip especially when being tacked up although this is more cheeky than nasty. In his previous home he was great to load and travel as he was regularly taken out. We initially travelled him without a partition and he didn’t like this, we think he likes the support of a partition in a trailer/box. He takes a short while to load but is better every time.
His current routine is being turned out as much as possible, he enjoys other field companions although he has been known to be bullied by a small pony! He is brought in daily to be groomed, tacked up, feet picked out and lunged (he has just started some long reining due to no ridden work during the Covid 19 Pandemic). Tatting has done some clicker training and is very eager! Perhaps a little too eager he does need to work more in protected contact. He is looking for an experienced person that will be able to offer him a loving home where he can continue his ridden work.
