I’m a 20 year old student and I got my first horse, called Ted, when I was 18. His story is on a separate page.
My second horse, Piper, was originally rescued by Essex Horse & Pony Protection Society as a yearling. He had been raced in a cart and had a full set of road shoes on. He suffered with a splint and was then abandoned in a field where EHPPS found him. He was entire, no vaccinations, worm ridden, covered in lice and very underweight. They had him for 18 months, when I then fostered him as a companion for Ted.
Piper is now 3 years old and is doing really well. He was very head-shy when I first got him, due to him being ear twitched when young. He also has many scar marks, which I am trying to sort out. He has come on leaps and bounds and is turning out to be the most well-rounded, beautiful horse and I’m blessed to have him.
