‘Hope Pastures Ollie’

We have available for loan a lovable 4 year old, 12hh, Piebald, Cob, Gelding. He is available for loan as a Non ridden or potential ridden depending on how he matures. He would love an interactive in hand lifestyle learning new things.

Ollie is very friendly and good to catch. He has started work on leading, being tied up whilst groomed and having his feet picked out. Unfortunately, he has had some issues in the past with mites and so he has had to start training again with his legs. He has seen the traffic across the road on our busy site and although he has never been led out we do think this is something he would enjoy on more quiet country lanes and bridle paths.

Ollie came to us underweight and malnourished. He has been brought into health slowly and he would love a home that can continue his rehabilitation. He currently lives in with a herd of geldings however he would be fine in with another mare also. It would be most ideal for him to be rehomed with other ponies where he is not left alone. With time and training this could be introduced to him slowly but he does like his field companions although he will happily come in to be groomed.

Ollie has seen a Physio who has suggested that given his bad start in life this has caused some weakness. This does not affect him as a non-ridden pony and he has been vet checked. He is available to view on site subject to arrangement.

It would be nice for Ollie to have 24/7 access to grazing with a field shelter, ideally without straw in the shelter to help prevent any future mite problems. Ollie doesn’t have any other vices and respects fencing. If he were to be introduced to some light ridden work we would recommend a 15% of his bodyweight as a limit.

Ollie is Passported, Microchipped and up to date with Flu and Tetanus vaccinations. He has recently had two dectomax injections which he may require in the future.  He is good with a patient farrier and is up to date with the dentist. He loads and travels fine and has had a recent worm count of 0 alongside annual Tapeworm medication.

We are looking for a loving, knowledgeable home for Ollie where his care and education can continue. If you feel you can offer him this kind of home please get in touch!

More photo’s and video’s available upon request. Rehoming fees apply for Ollie. To avoid disappointment before applying please take a moment to read our minimum requirements, these are found below the ponies available.

How it works… Ollie will go on loan as our other equines would with a loan agreement in place. He is available subject to loan application, home check and we will be available to contact for support and advice when required. Please note we are looking for a long term placement for Ollie and he would only be removed from a placement if his welfare was compromised.
