We have available for long term loan a sweet coloured mare, Missy. She is 11hh, Dartmoor Pony, 2008 who is available as a companion pony who could do some in hand work. She can be nervous at times and has had some issues with laminitis in the past and so we don’t think she will have a future as a ridden pony. She gets on well with other ponies and can be kept in a mixed herd or with mares or geldings separately.
Missy does take time to get to know you. She can be a bit unsure when you go to catch her from the field but this improves once she gets to know you, she is good to Lead, tie up and groom. She is good to have her feet picked out and for the farrier.
When Missy first came to us her old owner struggled to manage her weight as she was unable to restrict her grazing this led to some laminitis. Since coming to Hope Pastures this is completely under control and can be managed with diet and exercise. Missy has cushings which is easily managed with medication.
Missy has no vices and is good to lead out for walks. She is happy to be stabled and works well in a routine.
Missy is Passported/ Microchipped and up to date with Flu and Tetanus vaccinations. She is good for the farrier and up to date with the dentist. She is good to load/travel and is regularly dewormed.
Missy is searching for a home where she will be loved and managed appropriately. Ideally she would be kept with a companion with a similar condition to her. If you can offer her this kind of home please get in touch!
More photo’s and video’s available upon request. Rehoming fee of £100 apply for Missy. To avoid disappointment before applying please take a moment to read our minimum requirements, these are found below the ponies available.
