Maisey is a 16hh, 18 year old Percheron x mare looking for a new loan home. She arrived at Hope Pastures after her previous owner sadly passed away.

Currently in a foster home based in Wetherby, where light ridden work is being reintroduced after around a seven year break due to no fault of her own. She is ridden in walk and trot and has slowly been reintroduced to hacking.

Maisey has impeccable manners to lead, will stand tied up to be groomed, can pick her feet out beautifully and comes to greet you at the gate when you want to bring her in. She lives for human contact, kisses and scratches!

She would thrive from having a regular routine and likes to know what her job is. Maisey does suffer with mild Cushings (which she is on a low level of medication for) and arthritis in her fetlock joints.

Maisey would be most suited to a more experienced home, wishing for a quieter life, given her size and responsiveness when ridden. Proving to be light off the leg, very willing to please and just loves to work! She has been ridden in a snaffle whilst in her foster home both in the school and when hacking and responds well off the seat to set the speed.

Maisey is good with all forms of traffic she has met including tractors with trailers, crop sprayers and has met the quad bike.
Can be a typical chestnut mare in the field with other horses and likes to be ‘top dog’ and all the attention to be on her (and of course all the best grub!).
