Remembering Freddie.

Very sad news to bring today as we have said goodbye to our superstar pony Freddie.

Little Freddie had been a part of our family for many years, he came to live with us when his owner’s ill health had left them struggling to give him the care he was used to.

Freddie was a special little character who gave so much back, he attended social events for many years, from residential homes to school fairs to village fetes. He had a friendly and gentle manner, making visitors smile when they saw his little mushroom nose over his stable door, ready to greet everyone with a gentle muzzle.

Unfortunately, Freddie’s health deteriorated, and we were not able to manage his symptoms with medication, even with the best efforts of our staff, vets and physiotherapists. We kept him comfortable and happy as long as possible, but the time came when this was becoming difficult and continuing was unfair to Freddie.

His presence is missed every day, and we know that there are very many people who were especially attached to Freddie;

from Volunteers who learned how to groom him and lead him to his stable, taking him for walks and to events…to the many people who adopted him for years on our adoption scheme. And, of course, was a special boy to all of our staff and trustees, too. He will be missed and remembered by his previous family, who always kept in touch and sent their love, safe in the knowledge that little Freddie had a happy life here.

Such a popular and special pony will never be forgotten ?

Rest in peace, little man
