Banjo’s Banter Feb-20

Banjo’s Banter

Hello and welcome to our February Newsletter with
Banjo’s usual update on all things HP.

Well, I can’t believe we’re already in February. Time flies! Apparently you humans celebrate something called Valentine’s Day this month and they told me to remind you that there are lots of unusual gifts you can get your loved ones from Hope Pastures. If anyone loves me and fancies getting me a gift, a bag of carrots wouldn’t go amiss or maybe a new wellie? You’ve got to love a donk for trying eh?

We’re all a bit fed up of the mud at the moment and are longing for the new shoots of spring to show themselves. The ponies are enjoying their pampering sessions at the pony parties, especially those caking themselves in mud (not mentioning any names). As long as those little humans don’t come anywhere me with those bows! I’ll be the laughing stock of the donk world.

Bernie, Sago, Ned and Maisie saw the farrier recently and did really well, and Sago went to support the Leeds Cross Country Varsity Race as they were fundraising for us. I think he quite fancies himself as a runner next year.

Oh and Alfie is clearly trying to take over from me as Mr Mischievous. He’s always up to no good, either ‘helping’ the humans with the mucking out or breaking into the storage room for a rummage! It’s a good job the humans are onto him!

Some good news in that Ellie Mae has headed off to a long term foster home where she can live with another older mare. Dusty is also heading off to an experienced loan home where his specialist care can continue. Wishing you both lots of luck and cuddles!

Timmy is looking for a new forever home. He’s a lovable, cheeky 12.2-13hh chunky cob with two gorgeous wall eyes and a lush flowing mane. He was rescued several years ago as a colt who was due to be put to sleep and is now approx 6 years old and doing well with his education so far. He’s looking for a caring home where he can fulfil his full potential and have lots of fun. If you think you can give Timmy a home, please see our rehoming page

And finally, because it’s nearly Valentine’s day, I thought I’d add a picture of our very own Sanctuary pin up, the gorgeous Bernie!  You can adopt him too!

That’s all for this month. Take care.

Banjo xx

Looking for an unusual Valentine’s present?

Adopt a pony or donkey for your Valentine ??

What more could your beloved want than their OWN donkey or pony (without the hassle of looking after them!) It’s a wonderful feeling to know you’ve helped a rescue animal ….. your loved-one will never forget this Valentine’s gift.
All our Adoption donkeys and ponies are hoping to be that special someone for your ‘special someone’ this February 14th, but, more than anyone, Bernie is really hoping someone will adopt him – he’s only just started as an Adoption Star and would love to have his own humans  ??

Your loved-one will receive a letter from their pony/donk, a personalised certificate and a special photo. All of the adoption money donated goes towards the day-to-day costs of looking after their horse, pony or donkey.

You can be sure your gift will be much-loved – by your beloved and by our rescued animals……

Thank you for your continued support.

Love from everyone at Hope Pastures.
