Rescuing and re-homing equines since 1974

We receive no grant or state aid and rely solely on your donations and support to save and look after the animals. As a small charity with very low ‘overheads’, 95p in every £1 you donate is spent on the animals, so you can be sure we make every pound you donate work harder to save more animals and improve more lives. There are various ways you can donate:

We can’t do this on our own

Donate by cheque

Please make your cheques payable to Hope Pastures and post them to Hope Pastures, Weetwood Lane, Leeds, LS16 5PH marked for the attention of Lynn Gawthorpe.

Donate by text

Text ‘MULE00‘ (mule zero zero) followed by the amount, to 70070. Eg: to give £10, text MULE0010 to 70070

Donate by regular payment

Why not set up a regular payment from as little as £3 a month? This is a fantastic way of helping the sanctuary on a long-term basis. £3 is just over the price of a cup of coffee each month and it means so much more to our animals.

The easiest way to do this is to set up a regular donation through Justgiving. Just click on the link and Justgiving will organise everything for you.

You can also set up a regular payment direct with your bank. To do this, please print and complete our Standing Order Form (if you don’t have access to a printer, please contact us with your details and we will post one out to you.)

Become a Stable Supporter

As a Stable Supporter, you help to make sure that whoever lives in your stable has essential hay, feed and bedding all year round. As well as knowing you’re directly helping one of our rescues, you’ll receive:
o Your name as ‘Stable Supporter’ on your stable
o A complimentary Pony or Donkey Adoption of your choice
o 2 Special Stable Supporters’ Events at the sanctuary each year – a chance to get ‘close up’ and meet the animals
o Regular updates about all the animals
o Your monthly donation of £12 means that we can be sure that we have the money to cover the costs of your stable for at least one week every month. To find out more, click here

Donate your unwanted goods

We are very grateful for donations of:

  • Any horse/pony goods, such as rugs, tack, equipment etc.
  • Any new items – maybe a gift you don’t want – which we can use for raffles, tombolas and prizes
  • Clothes, shoes and handbags which we can turn into cash through recycling
  • DVDs and CDs
  • Antiques, collectibles and jewellery
  • Soft toys which can be ‘re-homed’

Although we’d love to, because we don’t have our own charity shop, there are some items we can’t take. These include:

  • Electrical items
  • Videos
  • Vinyl records
  • Furniture
  • Household goods
  • Books

These items will be better used by a large charity, who have shops for selling them.

We only have a small team of volunteers and we also struggle with lots of dirty and broken goods, so we’d be very grateful if you could check items before donating them. Thank you.

Sell your unwanted goods for us on ebay

We’re now registered on eBay so you can sell your goods for us on eBay and eBay will send the funds to us via Paypal. eBay don’t charge any fees for charity sales, so it won’t cost anything and the money will go directly to care for the animals. Details on how to sell for us on eBay are shown below.

eBay for Charity listings are the same as any other eBay listing, except for the blue and yellow eBay for Charity ribbon in search results and Hope Pastures’ mission statement and logo in the listing. This means the listing can be seen by everyone who searches through and it’ll get extra visibility through the eBay for Charity pages.

When an item sells there is a refund on the basic insertion and final value fees equal to the percentage donated to Hope Pastures. So if you donate 50% of your selling price to us, eBay will waive 50% of the fees, 100% and it will waive 100% of the fees.

How To List an Item Giving Money to Hope Pastures on eBay:

1 Click on ‘Sell’ (Top of page)

2 Click on Advanced Listing Tool (Top right of page)

3 In the ‘Raise money for your favourite charity’ section (after ‘Price’ and ‘Duration’) select ‘Another charity’

4 In the pop-up box type in ‘Hope Pastures’

5 Click on ‘Hope Pastures Horse & Donkey Sanctuary’ – we will then appear on the main page

6 Back on the main page select the % of the sale that will go to Hope Pastures (up to 100%)

7 If eligible tick the ‘Gift Aid’ box – this adds 20% to the value of the gift to us.

After the first time Hope Pastures will appear in your Advanced Listing Tool as a charity to which donations can be made – all you have to do is tick the box.

Buy online through Easyfundraising

Most people buy things on-line these days, whether it’s Amazon, eBay or one of hundreds of other on-line suppliers. If you buy your presents & gifts through Easyfundraising it will link to 100’s of your favourite sites and every purchase you make will earn money for the sanctuary, without costing you a penny more. If we received even just 2%, on every purchase our supporters made online, it would make a massive difference to how much animal feed and bedding we could buy. It costs you nothing but it means a lot to our animals.

Save your stamps

We know that with email there’s not as many stamps around, but we can still get cash for them. We need HUGE quantities so please save any you get and ask your friends, family and even work if they can save them for us as well. Remember 95p of every £1 we raise in this, or any other, way is spent directly on the animals, so every stamp you save will help.
