- Cheri LaMay of Earthworks1 Garden Design for her help by designing the garden and landscaping.
She says, “It has been great working with the people at Hope Pastures, and meeting the horses and ponies. I enjoy designing with native plants that harmonise with a site, and this aspect was particularly important at Hope Pastures since the surrounding area is woodland and fields. I liased with Council Officers to ensure the new planting fulfills Leeds City Council’s objectives, as well as designing a garden and landscape that will be leafy, serene and beautiful for everyone to enjoy all year.”

- Parcelforce Worldwide ( Wakefield ) came to the sanctuary to take part in a community challenge. 25 staff, family and friends gave up their Saturday to 'create' a garden for us. We wanted a remembrance garden for the horses we had lost that had trees and shrubs to give a screen and was attractive to wildlife. Parcelforce Worldwide not only gave us the people but also over £500 to buy the plants and paving required to turn a paddock into the garden. We would like to say thank you to all that gave up their time and worked so hard to complete the task.

- Ian Hartley, at Equiflash for generously donating twelve, 'Hope Pastures' printed sweatshirts for us to use at our events.
- Mark Dowker, who very kindly bought Paddy a new rug to keep him warm and dry this winter.
- Andy Lockett, who very kindly gave up his time and donated materials to sort out some rewiring that urgently needed doing at the sanctuary. Now Andy has done this, it will enable us to get on and clear some of the old and dilapidated disused sheds which will give us more room and make the place look a bit smarter.
- Jessica and Vicci, two of our young volunteers, who on the 15th of April organised a bag pack at the local Asda supermarket. They rounded up lots of their friends and spent three hours working hard packing up peoples shopping.
This was really hard work and took a lot of organising, which was all done by the girls themselves.
We are really grateful for the £185 they raised which is much needed.
Remarkably though, this is not the only fundraising event they had completed that week! On the Tuesday they had completed a sponsored swim and raised £210!
All of this is as well as volunteering to get stuck into the work come rain or shine every Sunday, They also like collecting things for our barn sales and organising door to door leafleting to promote our Open Day.
We are really grateful for the help of Jessica, Vicci and all of their family and friends who help too.
The funds they have raised will go a long way towards keeping the sanctuary running, and is especially welcome as these events took place on the same week that Willow arrived, who has need a lot of vet and nutrition care.
- Mick Rose of Design & Graphic for kindly donating his printing services. You can find Mick at www.designgraphic.co.uk
- David Johnson who very kindly donated the materials and built some much needed stable fronts for Zimba and Perry's Stable. The old doors were in quite a state of disrepair with broken hinges and flaking paint. The new doors look really good now.
