Here is some kind words from one of our Pony Day people

"hello its yasmin from the pony club 12/4/07 i was just writting to say that i had a really good time and it was a lot better than just sitting down on the computer and watching t.v like normally. i am really glad i went as i now know the horses a lot better thank you again it was amazing and i had a really good time."

Over 80 young people have attended our Pony Days since 2006 and we are pleased that we have been able to provide the opportunity for them to learn about animal welfare and our aim of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming ponies, horses and donkeys.

The first group of young helpers spent a day at the sanctuary learning what it takes to care for a pony. Of course, some of the work isn't all that pleasant, but they were here to learn about stable management and get some hands on experience that included mucking out, preparing the stables with fresh bedding, making up feeds etc. There was also still lots of time to give Beauty, Jasper and Thelwell plenty of grooming.

As well as rescuing horses, Hope Pastures hopes to provide an environment where young people can learn directly about caring for horses in a natural setting, this interaction helps educate young people about animal welfare and social responsibility.  Whether by visiting our website or directly meeting the animals at our sanctuary, we hope to foster an environment where learning and understanding can take place.

It is our hope that in doing this, we will help nurture a generation that values the natural world around us and seeks to protect the environment and the animals we share this planet with.

If you know someone, young or old who would like to take part in our next Pony Day, please email us at phtrust@fsmail.net. The cost is just £20 for the day (bring a packed lunch!) and all of the money raised from this event will go towards the upkeep of the horse and ponies. You will be in safe hands as Karen is not only fully first aid qualified, but is enhanced CRB checked.

Please note:  Pony Days will be for children or adults and not mixed so we can tailor the day to each age group.
