Napoleon
Arrived at Hope Pastures 25th February 2007
May 2007
Napoleon is much brighter and happier than when he first arrived at the sanctuary , he has really settled in and made himself at home and seems very settled.
He has also gained a lot of weight although not quite as much as Zak, however when he first arrived he also had very bad teeth, even worse than Zaks which had not been seen in a very long time and were in urgent need of attention.
Once he had been seen by the vet and all the problems had been rectified he also seemed in much better condition.
Another problem we had with Napoleon was his very thick wooly coat which was very matted and dirty when he first arrived, as he had been living in a field through the winter.
After weeks of careful grooming and trimming he now looks much better and cleaner although there are some lumps of fur near his back legs which he wont let us trim off just yet, as he is very touchy round this area and tries to kick us.
We had a little help too from some feathered friends- the sanctuarys resident crows, jackdaws and magpies loved to sit on Napoleons back and pull out great big lumps of white fur and fly away proudly to line their nests with it.
